Jena, 12 September 2005: With its platform MEB5200, MAZeT GmbH
offers a compact communication centre which is available now. The
leading enterprise for electronics developments, ASICs and sensors
designed the board as a development platform for the integrated
communication processor MPC5200 by Freescale. The aspect ratio
corresponds with the E²Brain™ standard by the company Kontron. In
connection with Kontron’s baseboard EBC1, the MEB5200 forms a
completely embedded platform which provides a wide variety of
interfaces for direct connections to the required peripheral devices.
In addition to providing interfaces standard to every PC, such as PCI,
IDE, USB and 10/100 Mbit Ethernet, it also accommodates industrial
standards such as CAN, I²C or SPI. The user-friendly bootloader uBoot
makes it possible to start up the preferable embedded Linux on this
platform.
Based on this platform, MAZeT develops customer-specific embedded computing platforms. One example is a mobile platform which contains the 3D graphics processor Coral PA by Fujitsu in addition to the MPC5200. With a total power consumption of less than 2 Watt and a temperature range of -40 to +85 °C, this platform meets the requirements of a battery-powered device.
