At the electronica 2004 (Hall A3/124), MAZeT will be presenting fully functional prototypes of its newly developed optical fiber receivers, which, starting from the 2nd half of 2005, will be available as standard assemblies in larger batches.

At the electronica 2004 (Hall A3/124), MAZeT will be presenting fully functional prototypes of its newly developed optical fiber receivers, which, starting from the 2nd half of 2005, will be available as standard assemblies in larger batches. Data transfer via fiber optic cables offers clear benefits in numerous applications, including the field of automation engineering.

MAZeT has fully functional prototypes for a fiber opticcable receiver suitable for optical data transfer via 980/1000 µm polymer optical fibers (POF), 200/230 µm hard-clad silica fibers (HCS), 50/125 µm gradient index optical fibers or 62.5/125 µm fiber diameters and single-mode optical fibers measuring 9/125 µm. It can be used for wavelengths of 520 nm, 660 nm, 850 nm and 1300 nm at data rates ranging between 0 and 25 MBit/s and thus covers virtually the entire range of industrial field bus communication. Its large optical dynamic range of between 0dBm and -30.2dBm sets it apart from conventional standard receivers. Also worth mentioning is the considerable extension of the cable lengths that can be achieved, for example, for polymer fibers over 100m (650 nm standard LED) and 150 m with 520 nm LEDs and for multi-mode optical fibers, over 5000 m with 850 nm standard LEDs.

MAZeT will also be presenting its extended JENCOLOR True Color sensor product range. The SMT-capable design of the MTCSi that features a SOI8 package is new. Thanks to its constructional design, the completely redesigned color sensor evaluation kit enables a high level of application affinity and with the USB2.0 interface provides an easy-to-use PC interface. The evaluation software has been completely revised and now includes a series of new functions.
