Jena, May 25, 2004: MAZeT GmbH, a leading provider of electronic designs, ASICs and sensors, presents technological news at the International Trade Fair for Optical and Microtechnical Products (O.M.P.) from 25. to 27. May, 2004 in Nuremberg, addressing, for example, the topic of “ASIC Redesign on Discontinued Notice“. By including this highlight in its exhibition program, MAZeT responds to the growing number of ASIC discontinuation notices, because customers seeking help from MAZeT are typically faced with one of the following problems: incomplete documentation, fluctuation of know-how bearers and small quantities. During recent years, MAZeT has "reanimated“ a variety of ASICs, thus helping its customers to keep important products alive.

MAZeT uses a field-proven method for meeting the requirements of customers who depend on the continued availability of a given important ASIC for further work. Minimisation of actual costs is as much a focal point of such redesign projects as is 100% compatibility in terms of functionality and footprint. During the redesign process, great importance is attached to verification of the design functionality and the engineering samples that are available on completion of design work.

Redesign services for mixed signal ASICs, representing highly demanding challenges in the majority of cases, are as much a part of the MAZeT engineering team’s wealth of experience as is the practical implementation of gate arrays of phased-out technology generations or ASICs with an embedded controller and integrated firmware.
